Crime & Mystery Adventures

Adventure & Crime

An adventure is a story of a given protagonist who sets out on a remarkable or unexpected journey, event or experience to distant or epic places for a mission to accomplish. On the way, this person encounters so many obstacles and challenges to reach the destination. Normally, the characters and settings are hidden and they have some prizes. Examples of storylines here include narrow escapes, dangerous situations, and problems whose puzzles get answers through some exotic people, intelligence and skills and brave deeds.

Crime, on the other hand, is a story on a certain crime that was committed some time back or long ago or that is ongoing. A crime story may explain the criminal life of someone or some people in the form of action or adventure genres. It involves the commission of a crime, usually a murder, investigating the crime and the judgment or outcome thereafter. The end of a crime story is usually an arrest of the criminal or their death.

A History Of  Crime & Adventure

The crime genre started to become popular in the 19th century whereby the stories did not have an organised way to conduct detectives. They lacked the police who could get into the crimes that people committed to providing solutions but rather had amateurs. Presently, apart from the crime stories are concentrated more in the structure than the characters - which the earlier writers emphasised.

Adventure stories also date back in the ancient days. The Genre grew so much and from the 19th century onwards, it has become the most popular of the fiction category. Some of the all-time adventure writers include Sir Walter Scott, H. Rider Haggard, Bronte Sisters and may more.
